The 22nd & 23rd Impact will be holding the PICS Summit: The Impact Model
Impact
February 27, 2026
Join us for a powerful two day summit dedicated to understanding and transforming the post incarceration experience.
April 22nd & 23rd at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach. Two days of a comprehensive overview of the work that Impact does with our previously incarcerated population.
Hosted by Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center, this summit brings together practitioners, researchers, community leaders, and system partners who are working to change what reentry can look like for people returning home.
Post Incarceration Syndrome is often misunderstood and deeply tied to the challenges of Substance Use Disorder. The result is a cycle that harms individuals, families, and communities. This summit is designed to shine light on these intersections and offer meaningful strategies for change.
Across two days, attendees will learn, connect, and leave with practical tools that can be implemented right away.
What You Will Learn
Understanding Post Incarceration Syndrome
Gain clear and accessible insights into PICS, its symptoms, its impact, and how it interacts with Substance Use Disorder. We will explore the emotional, psychological, and behavioral effects that often go unseen and untreated.
Breaking Down Barriers to Restoration and Growth
Hear from experts and lived experience leaders who will help unveil the structural and emotional barriers that make reentry difficult. Learn how stability, belonging, and community support shape every step of the process.
Putting Information into Practice
Our final sessions translate theory into action. You will walk away with a clear understanding of how to design, launch, and sustain an informed program within your organization. From staffing to resources to trauma informed approaches, this is real world guidance you can apply immediately.
People do not recover in isolation. They recover in community.
Our systems often respond to the symptoms of post incarceration trauma without ever addressing its roots. By learning together, we can build programs that support healing, reduce recidivism, and restore dignity for people rebuilding their lives.
